How much does a website cost?
A website costs what its pages, design, content, features and languages require. A one-page site with one goal costs much less than a large multilingual site with bookings, and you should always get a fixed quote before work starts.

How much a website costs depends on five things: the number of pages, the amount of custom design, who writes the content, the features it needs and the number of languages. A one-page site with one goal sits at the low end; a large site in several languages with bookings or a shop sits at the high end. Whatever the size, you should get a fixed quote before any work starts.
What does a website cost in practice?
Prices vary by market and by studio. As a guide, these are the ranges we work with:
- One page, one goal (a landing page for a campaign or a launch):
- Business website (8 to 15 pages, custom design, copy and SEO):
- Custom website (15 pages or more, three or more languages, a shop or bookings):
The exact figure for your project comes from a short conversation about what the site needs to do.
What decides the cost of a website?
Five factors explain most of the difference between one quote and another.
- Pages. Each type of page needs a design and content. A site with a home page, five service pages and a contact page is a different job from a site with 40 product pages. Pages that share a layout cost less than pages that each need their own.
- Design. A ready-made template costs less up front. A design made for your brand takes more time, but it fits your business and your customers. We compare the two in custom website vs template.
- Content. Writing, photos and video often take more effort than the build itself. If you supply finished text and images, the cost goes down. If the studio writes the copy and plans it for search, the cost goes up, and so, usually, does the result.
- Features. A contact form is simple. Online booking, a shop, a customer portal or a link to your CRM add work and testing, and sometimes ongoing fees for third-party services.
- Languages. Every extra language adds pages, native writing and technical setup. Read more in how to build a multilingual website.
Time plays a role too. A very short deadline can raise the price, because other work has to move. See how long it takes to build a website.
What should every website include, whatever the budget?
Some things are not extras. Every site we build includes them, and you can expect them from any studio:
- A design that works well on phones, where many of your visitors arrive
- Fast loading. We aim for a mobile Lighthouse score of 95 or higher (Lighthouse is Google's free tool for measuring speed and quality)
- An SSL certificate, so your address starts with https and browsers show the site as secure
- Basic SEO: page titles, descriptions, clear headings and a sitemap
- Readiness for AI search: clean HTML, structured data and an llms.txt file, so assistants such as ChatGPT can read your site (see how to show up in ChatGPT)
- A simple way to edit your own text and images
- Contact details and a clear next step on every page
What does a website cost after launch?
Plan for running costs as well as the build. These usually include your domain name, hosting, security updates and small content changes. Some platforms also charge yearly fees for plugins, themes or apps.
A site built with a framework such as Astro tends to have lower running costs, because there is less software to keep up to date. Our comparison of WordPress vs Astro explains the difference. We include SSL and the first year of hosting in every package.
How do we make a fixed quote?
We start with a free 45-minute call. We ask about your goals, your customers, the pages and features you need, the languages and your deadline. After the call, we send a fixed quote: one price for the agreed scope, with everything that is included written out.
A fixed quote protects both sides. You know the cost before you commit, and we know exactly what we are building. A good quote also explains what happens if the scope changes later, so there are no surprises for anyone.
How can you keep the cost down?
- Start with the pages that matter most, and add more after launch
- Prepare your text, photos and product details before the design starts
- Choose one person to give feedback and approve each stage
- Add extra languages or features in a second phase, once the first version is working
