Hand the busywork to AI agents
AI agents for business are AI systems that finish a task in several steps: researching prospects, building reports, drafting outreach, checking content and entering data. We set them up around the way your team already works, and a person reviews and approves what they produce before anyone relies on it.

What agents take over
More done, same team
The repetitive work moves to agents. Your people keep the judgement, the relationships and the final say.
Time back every week
Research, copying and formatting move to agents, so your team spends its hours on customers and decisions. A repetitive task typically takes 60–80% less time, which for most clients adds up to 5–20 hours a week.
Prospects researched before you call
Agents gather what's public about each prospect and prepare a first message that refers to their business. Your sales team edits it and chooses who hears from you.
Reports with an explanation
Figures from Google Analytics, Search Console and your ad accounts land in one report. A person adds what they mean and what to do next.
Fewer slips in routine work
Agents check pages, posts and product texts against your rules and flag wrong prices, broken links or missing translations, every time.
Data entered once, in the right place
Details from emails, forms and documents go into your CRM or spreadsheet in the right fields, ready for your team to use.
Nothing reaches customers unseen
A person approves every output a customer will see. You set the rules, and you can see what each agent did and why.
Agents in practice
What an agent actually does
What are AI agents for business?
AI agents for business are AI systems that complete a task in several steps, not just answer a question. An agent can search the web, read a spreadsheet, fill in a form, write a draft and check its own work against rules you set. For a small business, that means routine work gets done on time without adding hours to anyone's week. We explain the idea in more depth in AI agents: what they actually do.
What can AI automation do for a small business?
The best first tasks happen often, follow clear rules and are easy to check. Typical examples:
- Research. Facts about prospects, suppliers or competitors, collected and summarized in one format.
- Reports. Figures from Google Analytics, Search Console and your ad accounts pulled into one monthly report, with a person adding what it means.
- Outreach drafts. A first message for each prospect that refers to their business, ready for your sales team to edit.
- Content checks. Pages, posts and product texts checked for wrong prices, broken links, missing translations or a tone that doesn't fit your brand.
- Data entry. Details from emails, forms and PDFs copied into your CRM or spreadsheet.
Who checks the agents' work?
People do. This is how Atelier ATTENTION runs its own work: AI agents do the volume (research, first drafts, checks, reports), and people set the plan, decide and approve everything that reaches customers. We set up your agents the same way.
For each agent we write down, with you:
- What it may read and which tools it may use.
- What it may produce, and in which tone and format.
- Who approves its work, and what it must flag instead of guessing.
An agent that drafts outreach never sends it. A reporting agent's figures are read by a person before the report goes out. When something is unclear, the agent asks instead of inventing an answer.
How do you start without a big project?
Start with one task. In a free 45-minute call we look at where your team's hours go and pick the task that is most repetitive and easiest to check. You get a fixed quote, then a pilot on real work. We review every output during the pilot and adjust the rules until the quality is right.
Once the first agent runs well, adding a second is quicker, because the rules, access and approval steps are already in place.
What does it cost to run AI agents?
There are two parts: setting the agents up, and running them, which includes the AI usage itself. Usage grows with volume, which we wrote about in the real cost of AI tools and from $20 a month to $20 a day. After the first call you get a fixed quote for our work.
Where do agents fit with the rest of your marketing?
Agents work behind the scenes. For conversations with your customers, see AI chat assistants. For content in your own voice, see AI content and strategy. And for a founder's view of how agents are changing agency work, read the agency job is changing fast.
Setting up agents
From one task to a routine
Small and clear first, then more once the first agent works well.

In a free 45-minute call you tell us where the hours go. We point out the tasks that are repetitive, rule-based and easy to check.
- 2
Write the rules
Together we decide what each agent may read, use and produce, which tone it writes in, and who approves its work.
- 3
Pilot on real work
One or two agents start on real tasks. We check every output and adjust the instructions until the quality is right.
- 4
Run and report
The agents run on a schedule. Each month you see what they did, what a person corrected and what to automate next.
Agent questions
AI automation questions from owners
Plain answers about AI agents for small and growing businesses.

What are AI agents for business?
AI agents are AI systems that complete a task in several steps on their own: they look things up, use your tools, write a result and check it. In a business they take over repetitive work such as research, reports, drafts and data entry. A person sets the rules and approves what matters.
What is the difference between an AI agent and a chatbot?
A chatbot answers questions in a conversation. An agent does work: it can read a spreadsheet, search the web, fill in a CRM record or draft a report, then hand the result to a person. Many businesses use both; see AI chat assistants.
Which tasks can a small business automate with AI?
Good first tasks happen often, follow clear rules and are easy to check: prospect research, monthly reports, outreach drafts, content checks and copying details from emails into a CRM. Tasks that need judgement, negotiation or a personal relationship stay with your team.
Do AI agents make mistakes?
Yes, sometimes, which is why a person reviews their work. We start with tasks where errors are easy to spot, give each agent clear rules and checks, and log what was corrected. The instructions improve over time, so fewer outputs need changes.
Is it safe to let AI agents use our data?
Each agent gets access only to the data and tools its task needs, and we agree on that with you in writing. Where possible, the work runs in your own accounts. We use enterprise access to OpenAI, Anthropic and Google (Gemini) with training on your data switched off by contract, and you get a data processing agreement that lists our sub-processors.
Which tools can AI agents work with?
Agents can work with most tools that offer an export or a connection (an API), such as Google Analytics, Search Console, ad accounts, spreadsheets and email. We also connect business tools such as HubSpot, Salesforce, Zoho, Pipedrive, Odoo, Exact Online, AFAS, Moneybird, MISA, KiotViet, Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Slack and Zalo OA, directly or through n8n or Make. We check your tools in the first call.
How long does it take to set up an AI agent?
A simple, well-defined task can start as a pilot soon after we agree on the rules. Most agents go live 2–4 weeks after kickoff, with a first version within 1–2 weeks and then testing. Larger agents that connect several systems take 4–8 weeks.
How much does AI automation cost for a small business?
It depends on the number of tasks, how often they run and which tools they connect to. After a free 45-minute call you get a fixed quote for our work.
